• HIKING: Bald Mt. State Park (adjacent to our property) and the Townshend Reservoir both have marked trails, plus there are miles and miles of back country roads to explore.

• BIKING: On and off road bike rentals available in Newfane. Miles of back country roads lead from the farm.

• SWIMMING: The Townshend Reservoir is 1.5 miles away and offers swimming for kids and adults as well as a great beach, picnic area and cookout facilities. The West River, which borders our farm, has many deep swimming holes to enjoy.

• BOATING: Canoes and Kayaks rentals are available in Townshend, with paddling on the Townshend Reservoir and West River.

• DOWNHILL SKIING: We are located a reasonable distance from four great mountains. -Stratton Mt. (30 min.), Mt. Snow (40 min.), Bromley (45 min.) and Magic (50 min.).

• CROSS COUNTRY SKIING: Groomed trails at Stratton, Grafton Ponds (20 min.) and Tater Hill near Londonderry (40 min.). Our Farm fields for "ungroomed" skiing.

• SNOW-SHOEING: With rentals available in Townshend, our farm fields and mountain provide on-site snow-shoeing. Townshend State Park, next door, is also a great choice.

• ANTIQUING: In Townshend, Newfane and Jamaica all within a 10-15 min. drive. Between Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day weekend , the Newfane Flea Market is open every Sunday.

• RESTAURANTS: There are many places to eat in all price ranges from five star to pizza and beer within a 15 min. drive. The Riverbend Market in Townshend provides sandwiches and other picnic provisions.

• GOLF: There are several courses within reasonable distance, Stratton Mt., Mt. Snow, Tater Hill, Brattleboro (all about 20 min.), Manchester (45 min.) and Gleneagles Equinox also in Manchester, plus two local driving ranges and mini-golf only 5 minutes away.

• TENNIS: Brattleboro, Grafton and Stratton Mt. have courts available.

• MUSIC: Marlboro College hosts the Marlboro Music Festival from July through August featuring many talented and famous classical musicians. Brattleboro also has many Classical events throughout the summer and winter. In summer Stratton Mt. holds a music festival with a wide variety of well known artists.

• BRATTLEBORO: Voted one of the Best Small Towns in America, Brattleboro is an interesting town full of art galleries, shops, unique restaurants, movie theaters, including an art deco movie palace showing first-run movies, and plays.
